What happens today
Not connected yet. Export the Shopify order and payout reports and Fiona books gross sales, discounts, shipping income and collected tax.
Why it matters to your books
A Shopify payout blends order revenue, discounts, shipping charged to the customer, refunds and tax you're holding for a state. Booked as one number, an ecommerce P&L tells you nothing you can act on.
What Fiona reads
- Orders at gross
- Discounts and refunds
- Shipping income
- Sales tax collected
- Payouts matched to the bank
How to set it up
- Shopify admin → Analytics → Reports → Finances summary (or Payouts) → Export CSV
- Send the CSV to Fiona, or forward it to your Fiona inbox
- She books gross sales, refunds, Shopify fees and the payout to your bank as separate facts
Questions people actually ask
Why is my Shopify payout smaller than my sales?
Because fees and refunds come out first. Fiona records all three, so your revenue is the real number and the fee is visible as a cost instead of quietly shrinking it.
Do I need to reconcile the payout against my bank myself?
No. When the payout lands in a connected bank, Fiona matches it to the sales it settles rather than counting it as new revenue.
